Mid Week Currency Market Summary for Wednedsay June 11th

The September Euro currency closed down 15 points at 1.3530 today. Prices closed nearer the session low and closed at another fresh four month low close today. Bears have the solid near term technical advantage and have gained more power this week.

The September Japanese yen closed up 33 points at .9808 today. Prices closed nearer the session high. The bears have the slight near term technical advantage.

The September Swiss franc closed down 9 points at 1.1120 today. Prices closed near mid range and closed at another four month low close today. The bears have the overall near term technical advantage.

The September Canadian Dollar closed up 35 points at .9180 today. Prices closed nearer the session high. The bulls today gained the slight near term technical advantage.

The September British Pound closed up 37 points at 1.6779 today. Prices closed nearer the session high today. The bulls have the slight overall near term technical advantage. Prices are in a five week old downtrend on the daily bar chart, however.

The September U.S. dollar index closed down 0.040 at 80.900 today. Prices closed near mid range today. The greenback bulls have the near term technical advantage. Prices are in a four week old uptrend on the daily bar chart.

Currency Market Summary for Wednesday April 23rd

The June Euro currency closed up 14 points at 1.3815 today. Prices closed nearer the session low today. The bulls still have the near term technical advantage. There is a stiff layer of chart resistance just above the 1.3900 level. There is also a bullish pennant pattern that has formed on the daily bar chart.

The June Japanese Yen closed up 20 points at .9766 today. Prices closed near mid-range today on short covering. The bears have the overall near term technical advantage.

The June Swiss Franc closed up 26 points at 1.1329 today. Prices closed near mid range. Bulls have the slight near- term technical advantage.

The June Canadian Dollar closed down 4 points at .9052 today. Prices closed nearer the session high and hit a fresh three week low again today. The bulls and bears are on a level near term technical playing field.

The June British Pound closed down 41 points at 1.6774 today. Prices closed nearer the session low and saw profit taking. The bulls still have the solid overall near term technical advantage.

The June U.S. Dollar index closed down 0.065 at 79.930 today. Prices closed nearer the session high today. The greenback bears still have the overall near term technical advantage. However, a bullish double bottom reversal pattern could be forming on the daily bar chart now.

The September Japanese yen closed down 9 points at .9898 today. Prices closed near mid-range in quieter trading. The bears still have the overall near term technical advantage. Prices are in a three week old downtrend on the daily bar chart.

The September Swiss franc closed down 103 points at 1.0282 today. Prices closed nearer the session low today and hit a fresh five week low. The bears have the solid near term technical advantage. Prices are in a steep four week old downtrend on the daily bar chart.

The September Canadian dollar closed up 24 points at .9480 today. Prices closed nearer the session high today on more tepid short covering in a bear market. Prices last Friday hit a contract low. Bears have the solid near term technical advantage.

The September British pound closed down 85 points at 1.4857 today. Prices closed nearer the session low and hit a fresh contract low today. Bears have the solid near term technical advantage. Prices are in a steep four week old downtrend on the daily bar chart.

The September U.S. dollar index closed up .421 at 84.835 today. Prices closed nearer the session high today and hit another fresh three year high. The bulls have the solid near term technical advantage. Safe haven demand due to the crisis in Egypt and stronger U.S. economic data are supporting the greenback.
